Nikita Khrushchev’s report «On the Cult of Personality and Its Consequences» presented behind closed doors at the 20th Congress of the Communist Party became one of the most important events in Russian history.

In the aftermath of the Congress, millions of people learned about mass repressions that were taking place during Stalin’s rule. Until we reflect on the value of human life in the XX century and rethink the events that happened to our relatives, it will be impossible to move forward.

An eyewitness of the age, who went through the GULAG system, told us how he learned about mass repressions, which people tended to survive in the camp, and assured us that «no prison can bring one to hell, if one didn’t deserve it.»
